DD10HW7 Individual Resource Evaluation

Longenecker, C.O. and Neubert, M., “Barriers and Gateways to Management Cooperation and Teamwork,” Business Horizons, vol. 43, no. 5, pp. 37–44, 2000.

This article talks about the role of lower level managers and front line managers and how the rise and fall of a company is directly correlated with teamwork and cooperation. The importance of lower level managers being able to work as a team with front line managers is critical with this article because one of the key points that they talk about is how this issue is often ignored but deserves a ton of attention. The article also points out how front line managers fail in so many ways to reach there employees because they do not cooperate as a team.

https://www.fuze.com

Fuze web meeting application is one of the best web conferencing on the market today. The services they offer are amazing and not to mention the service is completely free. The offer 25 people in a single meeting, 12 HD video feeds, and 1G of free cloud storage. All of that at comes for free and beats out company with all of these free features. Upgrading to a pro plan will allow you to record meetings but at a small cost. Overall this application is amazing and really is the leader in the web conferencing world.

Audience: Companies
Purpose: To Communicate with others over the internet

I like how the application is free and allows up to 25 people on a web conference at once. The only tihnk that i don't like about the application is that you cant record your web conferences.

I like how this application is free also but I really dislike that only 3 people can be on a web conference at once. Way smaller compared to the web confereing application above fuze.

DD9HW3 Chapter 15 Digital Social Media

DD9HW3 Chapter 15 Digital Social Media

Text Message To Friend:

Where u at? Just landed. Let me know where to meet u.

Text Message To Co-Worker:

Bill, this is Shane. My flight just landed and I was wondering where I should meet you. Heading to baggage claim right now.

Differences:

In the text message to my friend you could clearly tell that we were comfortable enough to misspell words and be extremely informal. While on the other hand, when texting my co worker you could clearly tell that me and that person did not have the same relationship. When texting my friend i knew i would not be judged for the way i typed and i knew that i could say whatever and my friend would be cool with it. My co worker i felt as if i needed to watch what i said since he is part of a formal business environment.

DD9HW2 Chapter 2 General Question

DD9HW2 Chapter 2 Question #2

With my current job in IT Support I’ve had employees take my old position as I have been promoted twice. When a new employee took over my old position I made sure that they were ready by telling them the do’s and don’ts of the job ahead of them. If I were going to help a new employee right now with a tricky part of the job, I would help him or her with imaging a Computer. Imaging a computer, to put it in very simple terms, is wiping a computer clean of its memory and software and starting over like a new computer.

DD9HW1 Chapter 5 Team Techs

DD9HW1 Chapter 5 Team Techs

The technology that really stood out to me the most that me and other students would use to contact each other is web conferencing. I have used this technology almost every year to contact other students in groups to finish projects. The other technology that i have used is email. Email is a really big use of communication between students also because its easy to find the other students email and contact them. The ones that aren't listed are Facebook and texting. These are also huge ways to communicate with other students and are by far the easiest and fastest ways to contact each other. Out of all the communication methods those two are by far my favorite because you get such a fast response and dont have to wait a while like email and web conferencing.

DD8HW9 Reflect

DD8HW9 Reflect

Rhetorical Situation: In this project my audience was towards employees of a company reading a newsletter that was sent out to everybody. The purpose of the newsletter was to show ways of preventing ethical issues from arising when using visualizations. The overall document content was talking about the three ways in which businesses use visualizations to improve there chances of selling products to their customers.

Project:
  • What are you most proud of in the entire project? Why?
    • I am really proud of how my newsletter sounds, I never though that i was a good writer and I am really proud of how good my work sounds at least to me.
  • What do you wish you had time to further expand, include, or revise in the project?
    • I actually didn't have anyone revise my paper or maybe they did but I am on east coast time and i had to go to bed before I got that chance to see any revisions. Other than that i think i was given adequate time and I didn't think i needed to expand my paper.
  • When and where did you get stuck while working on the project? How did you overcome your problem?
    • I really got stuck on what subject i wanted to talk about in my paper and it took me a while to come up with business sales. I really thought about subjects that i am interested in and narrowed it down by the subjects that had the most information.
Learning:
  • What technologies did you use to complete this project? Why were they appropriate? What processes did you take to learn the technology application/s? What did you learn? What more you hope to learn in the future? How/why might you use the technology application/s again?
    • I used the Arizona Libraries and of course the Internet to complete this project. This was appropriate because I know that these were the assigned ways of how to complete this project. I will be using the Arizona Libraries resources for the next couple months until i graduate but with this resource it allows me to have endless amounts of information to help me with projects to come.
  • Discuss at least three of the course outcomes you feel you worked towards with this assignment. Provide evidence of you're learning by pointing to specific aspects of the project.
    • I critiqued and used flexible strategies to revise my paper to make it the best newsletter i could right. Secondly reflection on my paper i got to see how and where I thought that i did well and did poorly on my paper. Thirdly i got to understand ethical issues like the back of my hand which will allow me and help me to be more careful about things in the future.
  • Discuss at least one personal course goal you feel you worked towards with this assignment. Provide evidence of you're learning by pointing to specific aspects of the project.
    • Being able to clearly write and analyze my work is very important to me and important to be successful in this course. I really did this when going over my first draft and it helped me to understand where i went wrong in my paper and allowed me to fix my mistakes.
  • What did you learn about yourself as a technical writer?
    • I learned that i can really write! I feel as if I am learning something new everyday and i am becoming a better writer because of it. Writing a newsletter wasn't as hard as i thought it was and i really think that it was easier because i am becoming more knowledgeable of what i am writing about.

DD8HW6 Play with Sentence Variety and Style

DD8HW6 Play with Sentence Variety and Style

Of course there a ton more examples to go over but it is very important to make sure with visualizations to consider all of the ethical issues that can arise.
  • There is more than just one example and with that being said it is extremely important to consider all of the ethical issues that can arise with visualizations.

Last but not least, photographs play a huge part in business sales because what customer or high-ranking employee in your company is going to want a product without seeing how or what it looks like.
  • Finally, photographs also play a huge role in business sales because every customer wants to see what their new product is going to look like and how its going to perform.

All three of these visualization methods play a very big role in how and why business sales companies are successful.
  • Graphs, tables, and photographs are extremely important to why business sales companies are successful.

When you think of graphs, tables, and photographs the first idea that comes to mind is definitely not an ethical concern, but it reality should be.
  • When you think of graphs, tables, and photographs you don’t think of ethical issues that arise in business sales but in reality people need to understand the potential consequences.

Same issues to consider with photographs, as a company you will want to make sure when presenting a photograph of a product to a future customer that the evidence claimed in the photo is correct, the picture is an accurate representation of the object described, and that the data is not misleading.
  •  Last but not least, when presenting a photograph of a product to a future customer you need to make sure that the evidence claimed in the photo is correct, the picture is an accurate representation of the object described, and that the data is not misleading

I chose to use APA style of writing because I know it is a popular citation to use and thought that it would be important to use that citation style in the future. I liked how APA style includes double spacing which allows me and others to read papers better and it doesn't seem as cluttered with singled spaced papers. This style will be appropriate for my field coming up here in the future Here are some of the links that i found relating towards APA style:

I searched up computer science in wiki and found all of these links above in the footnotes. Each of these articles lead to other more detailed articles talking about simplified problems or solutions within computer science. When researching i noticed that there were a ton of options to choose from and i could have listed about 20 or so more links but decided to keep the four i liked out of them all. These links above cover many different topics but all contain one theme which is computer science. Finding different subjects within one theme was pretty easy and didn't take me long at all to find what i was looking for.
